Welcome!

Following a very successful concert in Warminster on Saturday, 9 March 2024, the Philomel Singers continue their busy year with an attractive Summer Celebration Concert in the Church of the Holy Cross, Seend, Melksham on Saturday, 22 June when the choir will be joined by four outstanding young soloists.

The programme will include a number of choral favourites written for upper voice choir, including Schubert’s The Lord is my Shepherd, Stanford’s The Blue Bird, Laura Farnell’s hauntingly beautiful Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep and the remarkable new work Tundra by the Norwegian/American composer Ola Gjeilo. Also in the concert will be items by Mozart, James Whitbourn, Will Todd, Bob Chilcott and young Canadian composer, Sarah Quartel.

The concert also includes items by soprano, Jemima James, pianist Christopher Hawkins, cellist James Weeden and violinist, Lily Weeden.

Later in the year the choir will be singing in St Katharine’s Church, Holt on Saturday, 12 October and at St. Andrew’s Church, Devizes on Saturday, 14 December.

We look forward to having you with us at our 2024 events.
